H.E. Mr. RAM PRASAD SUBEDI
Permanent Representative/Ambassador

His Excellency Mr. Ram Prasad SUBEDI took charges of Ambassador/Permanent Representative of Nepal to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva in September 2023 and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to Swiss Confederation in January 2024. Just before joining the Mission, Ambassador Subedi was the Head South Asia Division in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal since November 2022.

Earlier, he was Minister/Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi since November 2020, where he served as Charge d'Affaires a.i. from October 2021 to May 2022. Prior to that, Mr. Subedi was the Head of the Regional Organization Division and Policy, Planning, Development Diplomacy & Overseas Nepali Affairs Division of the Foreign Ministry since October 2019. Mr. Subedi was Director General of the Department of Consular Services under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until September 2019.

On diplomatic assignments, Mr. Subedi served in the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva as Minister Counsellor, and in the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing as Counsellor (Political, Cultural, and Media Affairs), where he also acted as Deputy Head of Mission. In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Subedi has served as the Director of the South Asia Division, Director of the Department of Passports, and Director of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Division, and as Section Officer of South Asia & SAARC Division and Protocol Division.

Born in December 1977, Mr. Subedi holds Master"s degrees in Science and Management from Nepal"s Tribhuvan University. He is married to Jyoti Rijal Subedi, and they have two children. Mr. Subedi is in Nepal"s Civil Service for over two decades.
